S/995 Regency Brass Bound Mahogany Writing Slope

The top, decorated with a shaped brass plaque and conforming brass decoration to each corner, opens to reveal a writing slope fitted with a light green hide. The lower part opens to reveal a mahogany lined compartment with lattice fabric fitted to the underneath of the lid for ones letters and notes. The upper part opens to reveal a mahogany lined removable compartment, which when removed reveals a false front edge that when released via a pin reveals three secret mahogany lined drawers fitted with small turned ivory knob handles. Above the slope are two compartments with glass ink pots, a water slide and a removable pen tray.

The whole, brass bound and fitted with brass military handles, lock and key, has retained a good patination, is in good condition and is a lovely colour.
