S/1796 16/17th Century Indian Padouka or Toe knob Shoe

An interesting Indian padouka or toe knob shoe, worn by those of Hindu or June religions. This design was made for thousands of years, and the underside was hollowed out so that the shoe had minimal contact with the earth. The top has cross hatching for grip.
