S/1889 Antique Victorian Papier Mache Tea Caddy

A most attractive papier mache lacquered two compartment tea caddy, having mother of pearl knobs and a hinged lid with a glazed oval painted scene of a riverside church and bridge, within a brass surround. The body is decorated with intricate designs of red, green and gold and is raised on small protruding bracket feet, and is fitted with a key.

Stamped on the base: Lane - Birmingham below a crown
