S/2224 Antique Treen 19th Century Welsh Fruitwood Love Spoon

A finely and delicately carved Welsh fruitwood love spoon, having a shaped handle with extensive chip carving, and two open vertical cages with three small balls in each. These are above two open parallel barley twist turnings joined to the top of the elongated bowl. The back of the spoon has a near corresponding design, all carved from a single piece of wood. The whole has a lovely rich colour, is in fine condition, retaining a good patination throughout, a real collector's item.
