S/2289 Victorian Beech Child's Deportment Chair

A Victorian beech child's deportment chair of a simulated bamboo design and slighly swept feet, having an oval seat. Today it is the naughty step, but in the Victorian times if children would not keep still, they were made to sit on these chairs, which were high enough so that their feet did not touch the ground, and therefore they had to sit still and behave themselves. The whole is in good condition and of a pleasing colour and patination.
