S/2312 Antique Treen 19th Century Fruitwood Lever Action Nutcracker

An interesting and well carved fruitwood lever action nutcracker, depicting a free standing man with a cloth cap, jacket and waistcoat with his hands in his pockets. His mouth opens, showing his teeth, for small nuts such as hazel nuts, and when the lever is lifted there is an aperture to crack larger nuts on the reverse. The whole has a good rich colour and patination.
