S/2409 Antique Treen 17th Century Sycamore Pedestal Salt
A good late 17th century Charles II sycamore pedestal salt, having a protruding collar, an incised ring, and raised on a turned support, which is seated on a larger circular base with a canted edge and stepped foot. The whole is turned from a single piece of wood with excellent pole lathe turning marks to the interior and the base. The salt has a pale colour and patination.
