S/2469 Antique Treen 19th Century Walnut Figurative Nutcracker

A well carved Swiss figurative walnut nut cracker depicting a bearded man, wearing a tricorn hat. The tapered hexagonal handle unscrews revealing an aperture at the back of his head for nuts. There are very similar exaamples in the book, The Art and Character of Nutcrackers by Arlene and George Wagner. The whole has a good colour and patination.
