S/2487 Antique Treen 19th Century Fruitwood Washing Beetle

A 19th Century fruitwood washing beetle, which is the alternative to a washing bat and to some extent to the dolly. It was used to pound the dirt out of clothes whilst washing them. The whole has a pleasing colour and a well used patinated surface.
