S/2674 Antique Treen 18th Century Lignum Vitae Nutcrackers

A fine pair of 18th century Georgian lignum vitae iron hinged nutcrackers in both heart and sap wood, having triangular blades for crushing the nut, with a shallow recess to the interior on opposing sides. The handles are well turned and each have a collared ball finial. The whole has a lovely rich dark colour and excellent patination.
