S/2729 Antique 18th Century Oak Deed Box

A well made solid oak Georgian deed box, having a lid that retains its original wire hinges. A paper label on the inside reads, 'G. Bennett Picture Frame Maker Gilder and Mount Cutter 6 The Pavement Warple Road Wimbledon'. The box, with all dovetailed joints, still has its original lock and key, and is raised on a moulded plinth. The whole has a pleasing colour and patination.
