S/2742 Antique Treen 19th Century Swiss Love Spoon

A well carved Swiss love spoon, having painted decoration, similar to what one finds on Scandinavian mangle boards. The bowl is of a shovel design and decorated with a painted Eidleweiss, and has a four section twin chip carved handle with four caged balls in each. The square solid top is attached to a five link open chain with a flat sunburst finial. The caged section, chip carving and chain is very much in the manner of Welsh love spoons.
