S/2760 Antique Treen 19th Century Oak Preacher's Timer

An interesting early 19th century oak preacher's timer. This is similar to an egg timer, but runs for much longer. This example that we have has an octagonal top and base with four octagonal supports enclosing the glass timer, which runs for 19 minutes 47 seconds. We imagine it originally ran for 20 minutes. These stood on the pulpit to time the sermon and has a pleasing colour and patination.
