S/2907 Antique Treen 18th Century Oak Church Offertory Box
A most attractive mid 18th century oak church offertory or collection box of unusual design, having a recessed area to receive the coinage that is partially covered with an applied panel which has a carved lozenge motif. The handle resembles an ancient primative stone design, and has incised line decoration. The whole has a medium colour and excellent patination.
The cover has been replaced at a later date.
