S/2966 Antique Treen 19th Century Scandinavian Handled Salt or Mortar

A birch Scandinavian handled salt or mortar made from a single piece of wood. The body is of a stepped and waisted design, having an open handle to the side. The whole has a good grain, a pleasing mellow colour and patination.
