S/2989 Antique Treen 19th Century Scandinavian Birch Pestle and Mortar

An unusual small Scandinavian birch pestle and mortar, having its original pestle of a simple waisted and rounded design. The mortar has two integral handles all carved from a single piece of wood, and has a stepped conical circular base. The whole has a good honey colour and retains a patination.
