S/3059 Antique Treen 18th Century Lignum Vitae Serving Mallet
A large 18th century lignum vitae sailmaker's serving mallet, having a concave blade, showing signs of years of use, that has two holes to hold the twine to be sewed on the canvas and worn grooves to the back. It is a well used tactile item, that has a rich brown colour and original worn patination.
