S/3119 Antique Treen 19th Century Boxwood Sugar Mould

A most unusual 19th century boxwood sugar mould for a birthday cake, carved with a horseshoe and the words 'A HAPPY BIRTHDAY' within a delicately carved circular surround. It is engraved with a size, no. 95 and written in ink on two ends, 'PLAQUE HAPPY BIRTHDAY'. The whole has an excellent honey colour and patination.
