S/3226 Antique Treen 19th Century Lignum Vitae String Barrel

A small good quality lignum vitae string barrel, having a protruding nozzle for the string and with a metal cutter above. It is made of heart wood. The barrel, with small incised lines, is screwed to a circular stepped base. The whole has a dark rich colour and excellent patination.
