S/3319 Antique 19th Century Leather Munitions Carrier

A substantial leather munitions carrier, constructed with continuous double lines of copper rivets along the top, bottom and down the side. Two leather bands encircle the body, from which the swing leather handle is attached with brass rings. There is a brass attachment to the centre of the base, which unscrews revealing a very small hole in the centre. It is possibly naval or military and marked No.2. The whole has a fine colour and patination and is in excellent condition.
