S/3441 Antique Treen 19th Century Oak Miner's Knitting Sheath

A well proportioned oak miner's knitting sheath, having a typical lathe turned baluster handle. Sheaths of this type originate chiefly from Dentdale and Garsdale, the adjacent area of the Lune Valley and Upper Ribblesdale. The whole has a good rich colour and patination.
