S/3459 Antique Treen 18th Century Sycamore Ale Scoop
A fine late 18th century sycamore ale scoop, having a protruding handle, all turned from a single piece of wood. The grooved rim is above a deep bowl, with good pole lathe turnings. The exterior has a ribbed base, which forms a foot. There is a small shrinkage crack beside the handle. The whole has a lovely warm colour and patination.
