S/3465 Antique Treen 19th Century Mahogany Knitting Sheath

A well carved mahogany knitting sheath from Clapham, North West Yorkshire; these knitting sheaths are square in section with a straight shaft, with the back prong having a rounded terminal. The carved front is usually restricted to a simple motif as in this instance. The whole has a good colour and patination.
