S/3537 Antique Treen 19th Century Mahogany Money Box

An interesting mahogany money box in the form of a Victorian chiffonier, having a raised shaped backboard above a slotted plate to receive the coinage. The carcass, of concave form, has twin fixed doors, which when removing a pin from the underside, hinge backwards to obtain the contents. The whole, with a protruding plinth, is raised on four squat bun feet, and has a good rich colour and patination. The front of the top is restored.
