S/3482 Antique 19th Century Mahogany Lidded Box

A small mahogany rectangular lidded box, having brass hinges, inlaid diamond escutcheon and lock and key. The underside of the lid is inscribed in ink W. Clare and dated indistinctly 1829. The interior has a lidded compartment to the left side, and the whole is constructed with saw cut angled dove tails. The whole has a good medium colour and retains a patination.
