S/3443 Antique Treen 18th Century Chocolate Molinet

A rare late 18th century two part chocolate molinet (whisk), having a removable shaft that fits into the carved conical base. It goes through an aperture in the lid of a copper chocolate pot (see S/3462) for whisking up the chocolate drink. The whole has a good medium colour and retains a patination.
