S/3493 Antique Treen 18th Century Birch Mortar

A very interesting octagonal Scandinavian 18th century birch mortar, having an open handle, all made from a single piece of wood. The flanged protruding base conforms with the body. The whole has a good honey colour and retains a patination. The top of the handle has an historic crack.
