S/3659 Antique Treen 19th Century Mahogany Dish Slope

A good quality early 19th century mahogany dish slope, of oval form with a protruding knob handle to tilt a seving dish, so that the gravy settled at the opposite end. Later, well dishes with a recessed tree design did the job, but they also did not always have sufficient flow. The whole has a good rich colour and patination.
