S/3723 Antique Treen 18th Century Oak Plumb Line
A rare and most interesting 18th century oak plumb line, indistinctly carved with initials and dated 1776. The cord line, with a small lead weight, hangs down between an iron guide and if level is in line with the point of a cut out upside down heart. The whole is on a shaped flat carved oak board, with an ancient iron staple repair and a hook for hanging up at the top. It has a lovely worn colour and patination.
