S/3812 Antique 16th Century Carved Oak Portrait Panel

An extremely fine 16th century (Henry VIII Period) carved oak portrait panel depicting a bearded man wearing a cloth cap, with bands of punched decoration conforming with the background, all within a central diamond surround, with four carved spandrels with leaves and buds. The reverse has a wide chamfer on all four sides. The whole has an exceptionally rich two tone colour and excellent patination.
