S/3813 Antique 19th Century Mahogany Cased Explorer's Compass

A small mahogany cased explorer's compass, having a lid with twin brass hinges and a catch that opens to expose the circular compass card, divided into degrees and showing all points of the compass. The blue steel needle is held in place by a stop arm when the lid is closed. The whole is in good order and working condition.
