S/3864 Antique 19th Century Oak Candle Box

A good quality Welsh oak straight grained wall mounted candle box of dovetailed construction, that is plain yet of pleasing proportions. The sliding vertical lid is within a rounded protruding edge. The backboard, which is screwed, has a raised rounded top with a circular hole for hanging. The whole has a lovely rich colour and excellent patination.
