S/3872 Antique 19th Century Iron Bound Ash Wheel Boss

A tactile iron bound ash wheel boss for an eight spoke wheel, possibly a dog cart or something similar, having traces of red paint and ancient worm, now long since departed! It could be used as a pen holder or paperweight.
