S/3960 Antique Treen 18th Century Fruitwood Cup or Vessel

An exceptionally well patinated 18th century fruitwood standing cup or vessel, having a rounded rim above a shaped body, raised on a stepped and concave stem and rounded foot. We have had several items of this design in the past, and nobody seems to be sure of their original use. The whole has an excellent rich colour and patination.
