S/4005 Antique Treen 19th Century Figured Walnut Pocket Snuff Box

An unusual square figured walnut pocket snuff box, having a slightly domed sliding lid with an oval white metal inset, engraved with the letter M. The interior has a circular recess for the snuff. It has a provenance label, Hawtin Collection No. 235. The whole has a good honey colour and patination.
