S/4021 Antique Treen 19th Century Tiger Maple Presentation Baton in Case

A fine quality and well grained tapered tiger maple presentation baton, with a decorative silver top and collar, inscribed: Presented to Jos Robinson by the member of Elswick Road Wesleyon Band of Hope and Choir as an appreciation of his valuable services Dec. 4th. 1876. The end has a silver engraved ferrel. The whole is contained in its original hinged mahogany velvet fitted shaped case. The top of the case is inlaid with two boxwood portraits of a parrot ans a monkey, centralised with a carved mother of pearl cartouche within a rosewood border. The case has a pale mahogany colour and retains a patination.
