S/4065 Antique Treen 18th Century Lignum Vitae Travelling Pounce Pot
An excellent 18th century Georgian lignum vitae travelling pounce pot in three sections, having a saucer top of traditional form that unscrews to reveal the receptacle for the pounce. The unusual feature is that the base also unscrews, for the storage of the pounce while travelling. It is turned from both heart and sapwood, with very minor closed shrinkage cracks to the base. The whole has a good colour and patination.
