S/4082 Antique Treen 19th Century Lignum Vitae String Barrel

A pleasing 19th century four section lignum vitae string barrel, having a screw lid that has a raised removable cutter, above the well grained body in both heart and sap wood. The base also unscrews, which is not always found on string barrels of this design. The whole has a good colour, grain and patination.
