S/4080 Antique Treen Italian Souvenir Cuckoo Whistle

An extremely interesting Italian souvenir cuckoo whistle, stylistically carved to resemble a cuckoo with a head, feathers, beak and eyes. The body is inscribed cockoo, Bellagio and dated 1900. It has two holes to change the note and a shaped and flanged mouthpiece to one end, with tiny chip restoration. The whole has a pleasing honey colour and retains a patination.
