S/4098 Antique Treen 19th Century Snuff Spoon

A rare mid 19th century snuff spoon, having a well turned and tapered fruitwood handle, and a silver plated shaft and bowl of small proportions. The interior of the bowl has a few dark discolourations. These spoons of varying handle lengths were used in tobacconist shops for measuring out the correct amount for supplying snuff for snuff boxes. The handle has a good honey colour and excellent patination.
