S/4125 Antique Early 19th Century Salmon Gaff

A good quality early 19th century salmon gaff, having a brass shaft that conceals the extending steel hook, with a folding hinged brass arm to contain the pointed end when not in use. The ribbed, turned and tapered handle is made of lignum vitae, having a shaped circular milled pommel with a hole and split ring to hang it up. It is in excellent usable condition and the handle has a good rich colour and patination.
