S/4248 Antique Treen 19th Century Mahogany Spirit Goblet and Cover

An extremely good example of an early 19th century mahogany spirit goblet and cover, having a domed cover with a small ivory acorn finial that has a well turned stepped edge, and fits snugly on to the cup, which is raised on a double concave stem with a central knop. The circular base is dished, stepped and rounded, with a concave underside, showing very fine pole lathe turnings. There is a hairline crack to the cup, which is hardly noticeable. The whole has an excellent rich colour, grain and patination.
