S/4274 Antique Treen 19th Century Laburnum Wood Spill Vase
A most unusual and attractive 19th century laburnum wood spill vase, the like of which we have never come across before. The cylindrical body, with a brass inset, is made of twenty small laburnum branches, and cut at the top on an angle showing the lighter sap wood. The whole is raised on a double concave and central stepped knop support, sitting on a circular branch platform base of the same format as above. The whole has a lovely rich contrasting colour and excellent patination.
