S/4288 Antique Treen Early 18th Century Ladle
A fine quality mid 18th century ladle, the bowl made from a coquilla nut with a rounded base, very much in the manner of a lignum vitae dipper cup, used in conjunction with a wassail bowl. The top has a silver rim with a silver shaft attached, unhallmarked. The finely turned baleen barley twist handle, ends in a small finial. The whole has a lovely colour and patination, and is a serious collector's item.
