S/4372 Antique Treen 19th Century Tunbridge Ware Book Stand

A Tunbridge Ware sliding book stand, having micro mosaic decoration, made of solid rosewood. The base extends with a sliding action with a folding hinged flap to each end, inlaid with a micro-mosaic rose and floral designs in various woods on a golden sycamore background. The border has stringing in holly and sycamore. The whole has a pleasing colour and retains a patination.
