S/4350 Antique 19th Century Rosewwood Mercurial Stick Barometer by E. Gilbert of Falmouth

The case is extensively carved in relief in the Gothic style with the top depicting a spray of leaves. The rectangular opaque glass register is signed E. Gilbert, Falmouth, with ornamentally engraved titles and measurements with two adjustable setting slides, titled 10 am yesterday and 10 am today, operated by two bone circular knobs below amongst carved Gothic ornaments. The removable rosewood carved and glazed thermometer is seated above the shaped protruding and removable base section, which houses the glass cistern. The whole is in full working order, is in remarkably fine condition throughout, and has a lovely rich colour and patination.
