S/4377 Antique Treen Early 19th Century Virginia Walnut Pounce Pot

A one piece barrel shaped pounce pot in Virginia walnut, having a dished top with 21 small holes in a star design. The body has two bands of multiple reeded decoration, that enhances the overall appearance. It actually has historic pounce inside, and I have now proved that one can reuse it by shaking gently. It will disappear back through the star shaped holes. The whole has a pleasing medium colour and retains a patination.
