S/4375 Antique Treen 18th Century Ash Mortar Grater

A good 18th century two section ash mortar grater of traditional form, having a pestle with a mushroom top. The top has a circular extension that is fitted with a metal grinding plate. The bottom section has a baluster turned and stepped base, which is fitted with an interior plate in the usual manner. It has a wonderful rich colour and excellent patination.
