S/4425 Antique Treen 19th Century Walnut Decorated Pique Snuff Shoe

A lovely walnut extensively decorated pique snuff shoe, having a brass hinged lid with a flower within a rope twist border, that has a bone inset front piece. The sides are most unusual and depict a bird sitting on a branch. The toe has a flower head and intricate leaf work and it has a protruding heel. The underside, including the sole, has extensive pique decoration. The whole has a good rich colour and patination.
