S/4495 Antique Treen 19th Century Dutch Tobacco Jar

An unusual and extremely attractive 19th century Dutch tobacco jar in three sections, having a main body turned in lacewood, that is above alternate staves in birch and mahogany, and is seated with a screw fitting to the circular base, with an ebonised collar and alternate inlaid sections above a rounded and stepped base, raised on three outswept ebonised ball feet. The circular conforming lid has an ebonised and bone finial. The whole is of a good colour and patination.
